Olson Snowplowing & Lawn Care Night

Clean sweeps seemed to be the theme of the night in over half of the nightly divisions. Nick McConnell of Henderson bested 15 other Jerry’s Home Quality Foods AutoCross drivers Saturday night. He started in the 2nd row and by the 4th lap he was leading the race. On the 2nd lap, Deric Seivert was sited with a black flag for rough driving which ended his night. Trevor Falk earned the hardcharger award for the night as he started 16th and finished 2nd but there were too many lapped cars between him and McConnell for him to catch McConnell. McConnell also won his heat race.
Chad Volk triumphed in the Jack Pines Resort IMCA Hobby feature taking the lead after Taylor Manderfield was in the top spot but had mechanical problems putting him on work road and eventually in the pit That opened the door for Volk to take the lead on the restart and held it for the remaining laps to win his 2nd race of the year. Austin Jahns led the race for one lap but as the checkered flag came out, Volk passed the flag first to win. Jahns took 2nd and Jordan Robinson moved up 9 spots to take 3rd place. Volk also won his heat race.
Gary Schumacher was victorious in the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact feature as he led the race for the entire distance from his front row start. A collision occurred at the finish line which changed the outcome of the race but Schumacher stayed in the front of the field to go to victory lane.
Craig Groebner led the first 10 laps of the Olson Snowplowing and Lawn Care Outlaw Hobby race until a couple of engine problems took out both Aric Rolf and Mark Oestreich. Karl Hewitt Jr was able to capitalize and get around Groebner to gain the lead and win. Groebner took 2nd and Cody Flewelling had his best finish taking 3rd place. Hewitt also won his heat race.
The Arlington State Bank IMCA No Sport Modified feature was a caution flag invested event. On the first lap, 5 cars were involved in a multicar crash that brought out the first yellow flag. All cars restarted the race. The next two laps caution flags were again thrown for spinning cars. Ben Reierson managed to pull out front from his 2nd row start and remained the leader to claim his first feature win of the year. Behind him Eric Larson and Tim Bergerson were battling for the 2nd place position with Larson able to finish ahead. Reierson won his heat race too.
Brett Allen won his second feature of the year in the Rice Companies IMCA RaceSaver Sprint division by leading from start to finish. By the 1st lap he had command of the race passing the 00 of Andrew Allen on the backstretch. A yellow came out on the 8th lap when Andrew spun around in turn #2, he was able to refire but started in the back. For the remaining laps, Bill and Matt Johnson following Allen around the track as Trevor Serbus got some bite and got around Matt with 4 laps to go but settled for 3rd. Brett Allen won his heat race also.
Three different leaders in the Ottomotive Tire & Repair IMCA Modified feature saw Todd Stinehart the early leader, but only lasted two laps as the 13L of Zach Schultz had mechanical troubles bringing out the caution flag on the 2nd lap sending him to the pit. Trent Loverude then inherited the lead with Stinehart sticking with him. Clint Hatlestad had his car dialed in and was able to overcome Loverude on the 5th time around the track to take over the lead and the rest of the race was smooth sailing as he won ahead of Loverude with Matt Looft finishing in 3rd place just ahead of Stinehart.
Matt Speckman started in pole position in the B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock feature with plenty of action behind him in the 24 car field. Luke Sathoff was in 2nd but a 2nd lap yellow came out when the 96 car of Cornelius broke in turn #3 and ended his night. On the restart, Speckman again took command of the race but this time Broddy Enter got around Sathoff and was challenging Speckman lap by lap. With only 5 lags left in the 20 lap race, Enter dug down and got the lead. Dan Mackenthun followed Enter and also passed Speckman. In the end, with a close finish, Enter won his first feature in the stock car, Mackenthun took 2nd and Speckman rounded out the 3rd place.
